    The WVSU Office of Housing and Residence Life invites graduate students to apply for campus housing for the 2026 – 2027 academic year.

    Please Note: The East Wing of Sullivan Hall is reserved for graduate student housing. 

  • Campus Self Defense Act (§18B-4-5b) 

    Effective July 1, 2024, the Campus Self Defense Act (§18B-4-5b) takes effect.

    The law allows for individuals with valid and current concealed handgun licenses to carry firearms on campus. The law permits WVSU BOG the authority to restrict the carrying of firearms in certain situations on campus such as in residential halls/dorms. WVSU has designated the central storage area for firearms as Sullivan Hall and students choosing to exercise this law will reside in Sullivan Hall and be charged a fee for storage.

  • Do you intend to carry a firearm while residing on campus?*
  • Are you aware that all residential students with a concealed carry license who wish to store a weapon on campus must reside in Sullivan Hall? There is no exception.*
  • Graduate Student Housing Requirements:

    A graduate student is considered to be a WVSU student seeking to obtain a post-secondary degree. (Master’s degree or higher)

    In order to stay in campus housing, all graduate students:

    • Must be accepted into a WVSU degree program.
    • Must have at least 6 credit hours per semester.
    • Must be enrolled in at least 1, in-person class each semester.

  • You are welcome to submit a housing application even if you have not yet registered for Fall 2026 classes or paid the $200 non-refundable housing reservation fee. However, both must be completed before you can receive a housing assignment.

    Housing applications opened early to give students time to complete these steps before the self-selection process.

    • Double Occupancy - $1,750 per semester
    • Single Occupancy - $2,000 per semester

    Assistance Animal Policy & Acknowledgment

    To ensure proper placement of assistance animals and maintain a functional living environment for all residents and staff, the following policy applies:

    • Approval Required: Students must be approved by Student Accessibility Resources prior to bringing an assistance animal to campus.
    • Designated Housing: Assistance animals are only permitted on the first floors of Keith and Dawson Halls and Sullivan Hall. Animals are not allowed in the Keith Hall apartments.
    • Policy Enforcement: Unauthorized animals will result in charges being added to your student account. Repeated violations may lead to removal from University Housing.
  • Are you aware that you must first be approved via email before bringing an assistance animal to campus? Failure to comply will result in a fine and possible removal from the residence hall.*
  • Do you understand that if you're approved for an assistance animal, you may be sharing a living space with another student who also has an assistance animal?*
  • I plan to apply for an emotional support animal (ESA) or plan to bring a service animal.*
  • I do not want to be placed with a roommate with an emotional support animal or a service animal.*
  • I understand that if I am approved for an assistance animal, I must reside on the 1st floor of Keith or Dawson Halls and Sullivan Hall. (This requirement is not optional.)*
  • I am indicating my intention to live on campus for the 2026–2027 school year by signing below. I confirm that I am aware that the East Wing of Sullivan Hall is only available to graduate students and that in order to live on campus, I need to be enrolled in six credit hours per semester. By doing this, I also acknowledge that each semester, a minimum of one class needs to be attended in person.

    I am also aware that housing at WVSU does not guarantee a certain kind of room or residence hall. Furthermore, I acknowledge that I will only be able to select a housing assignment once I have submitted a housing application, registered for fall 2026 classes, and have paid the $200 Housing Non-Refundable Reservation fee.
