  • Staying on campus over the summer is a perfect way to stay connected, stay focused, and thrive in your WVSU summer classes, University internship, or preapproved campus job.

  • Campus Self Defense Act (§18B-4-5b)

Effective July 1, 2024, the Campus Self Defense Act (§18B-4-5b) takes effect.

The law allows for individuals with valid and current concealed handgun licenses to carry firearms on campus. The law permits WVSU BOG the authority to restrict the carrying of firearms in certain situations on campus such as in residential halls/dorms. WVSU has designated the central storage area for firearms as Sullivan Hall and students choosing to exercise this law will reside in Sullivan Hall and be charged a fee for storage.
