  •

The WVSU Office of Housing and Residence Life invites upper-classmen students who currently live on campus, to return to campus housing for the 2026 – 2027 academic year.

  • Campus Self Defense Act (§18B-4-5b)

Effective July 1, 2024, the Campus Self Defense Act (§18B-4-5b) takes effect.

The law allows for individuals with valid and current concealed handgun licenses to carry firearms on campus. The law permits WVSU BOG the authority to restrict the carrying of firearms in certain situations on campus such as in residential halls/dorms. WVSU has designated the central storage area for firearms as Sullivan Hall and students choosing to exercise this law will reside in Sullivan Hall and be charged a fee for storage.

  • Keith Hall Apartment Requirements:

    • Seniors with a minimum cumulative 3.5 GPA or higher and no housing or student conduct violations are eligible to reside in the Keith Hall Apartments.
    • All eligibility requirements must be met before a student can be considered for an apartment.
    • If space remains after eligible seniors select their assignments, juniors who apply with a minimum cumulative 3.5 GPA or higher and no conduct violations will be considered for an apartment.
    • Students assigned to Keith Hall Apartments are not required to select a meal plan.
    • Students on non-monetary waivers are not eligible to apply for Keith Hall Apartments.

Non-Monetary Waiver Policy for Keith Hall Apartments:

Students who are not paying for housing with actual funds—such as scholarships, grants, or personal payments—are not eligible to reside in Keith Hall Apartments. This includes any non-monetary waivers that cover housing costs without direct financial backing.

Keith Hall Apartments are the most expensive housing option on campus and must be paid in full, with no partial payments, waivers, or exemptions allowed. Students using financial aid or scholarships must ensure their award explicitly covers the full cost of the apartment before applying.

You are welcome to submit a housing application even if you have not yet registered for Fall 2026 classes or paid the $200 non-refundable housing reservation fee. However, both must be completed before you can receive a housing assignment.

Housing applications opened early to give students time to complete these steps before the self-selection process.
